Trans dimensional travel on the house

If you don’t already own the brief but excellent Portal, get over to http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/ before May 24th and you can download it completely free.

As Valve have released a new version of the Steam client recently (which I think is a big improvement over the old one incidentally) the only catch is probably just to get more people using Steam.

This is well worth doing though! In fact, stop reading this and get over there and download it now.. Quick! :)

Quite enjoyed Portal, Got it in the PS3 Orange Box. Even if I wanted to download it I cant! Why? Well my broadband collapsed on its arse 3 weeks ago (despite 3 engineers and 50 different hard to understand Pakistani customer service reps) and I cant get my broadband speed above 128k, thats when it doesn’t cut off after 2 – 5 minutes! Gotta love BT!

5 engineers and into my 5th week without broadband! The ba****d on the phone told me the engineers had replaced the gubbins up the pole and everything should be working fine, when in fact they haven’t even booked the platform to access the pole! LYING BA****DS! Im REALLY starting to think life without broadband may be an option! FU****G AR******S your making me doubt myself now! AAAAAARRRRGH

Yeah, I had the same hassle for weeks on end with Tiscali a few years ago. You don’t realise how much you rely on the Internet until you have to manage without it for a while!

Did you finally get it sorted then?

Yep! a couple of weeks ago, Replaced half the wiring and a chunk of the junction box, gone from a 3-5 meg connection to a 5-7 meg connection! Bring it on! And i’ve calmed down now :P
