Any regular Guild Wars player will know you are constantly running out of space in storage. So you’ll be pleased to know that ArenaNet/NCsoft are offering you a free extra pane of storage as part of the Guild Wars 4th Anniversary celebrations.
The only catch is to get it you need to register an NCsoft account which is a bit of a faff but it’s all free. You’ve only got until 31st May 2009 to claim it though so hurry!
All the details you need can be found on http://eu.guildwars.com/support/article/free_storage_pane/

According to a post on the US Playstation blog by Rusty Buchet, Farbrausch are about to debut a demo on the Playstation Network for the PS3. Well they describe it as an interactive art experience, or god forbid a music visualiser, but to you and me it’s a demo!

.deTuned by Farbrausch
They haven’t released too many details at the moment and the only blurb is: .deTuned is a bit of an odd beast that offers an abstract and surreal interactive experience like nothing else. It is not exactly a game or an art piece like Linger in Shadows. It allows you to create your own visual to accompany your favorite music tracks on the XMB, and using the SIXAXIS™ Wireless Controller, you will be able to manipulate the given scene by interacting with and modifying a man and his world. It even lets you tweak your music as you play with it.
Plastic were the first group to release on the Playstation Store with the excellent Linger in Shadows a few months back. If you missed it then you can still grab it for about £1.99. Don’t be tight! It’s virtually free! It’s almost worth the price alone to be able to get a trophy called “Greetings to Fairlight”… Although I would absolutely love one called “Fairlight cracked Elfmania 100%” :p
I’m still hoping for a Desert Dream in 2009!

I’m still digging around the murky depths of hacking Wordpress themes so I thought I’d take a quick break and add a few of my favourite gaming-related websites to the links section:
kongregate.com: This site has been around for a while but I only discovered it recently. It’s a completely free flash gaming portal which you can also earn achievements on if you register (although you are free to play any game without signing up). The quality of the games on the site is amazing and it shows the cutting-edge of browser gaming is fast catching up with the rest of the gaming world. This is a site any serious gamer should at least take a look at. I may mention a few of my favourite Kongregate games from time to time. (Oh yeah, word of warning. If you play games on here and save them. Don’t clear out all your temp files from your flash plug-in as your saves will go too. Yes, it is frustrating!)
Aeria Games: US-based company hosting various free-to-play MMORPGs (usually imported from Korea). I’m currently playing Shaiya (fantasy MMO) and Project Torque (motor racing MMO). The company appears to make it’s money by selling Aeria Points which you can use to buy in-games skills and effectively level up faster. But if you are the sort of person that likes to grind through and earn your own rewards (like me) you don’t need to spend anything. Actually I may write a brief article about Shaiya and Project Torque in the future.
Guild Wars: Currently my favourite fantasy MMORPG which has so far zapped over 700 hours of my life over the best part of a year (worrying isn’t it!). There is no monthly fee, you just buy the initial game client for the campaign you want to play. I will probably write up a Guild Wars article or guide too if anyone is interested.
playfire.com: I only came across this site recently. It’s a social networking site based completely around video games across all platforms. It’ll even show your XBox Live achievements and Playstation 3 trophies to the world. It’s still in development but there are more than enough features so far to make it worth a look. To register you just need to choose a username, password and have a valid email address. Anything else you post to your profile is up to you.
Steam: If you are a gamer on the PC and you haven’t heard of Steam… Where have you been?! Just in case though I thought I’d post the link to Valve’s digital distribution platform. It’s worth keeping an eye on it from time to time as there are some cracking deals if you can catch them, such as 75% reductions in prices over certain weekends. If I see a particularly great offer I’ll try and post it in here as well.
Eurogamer and Computer & Video Games: The two main UK-based gaming news sites I frequent most regularly. Beware though, fanboyism is rife in the comments so leave your brain at the door before reading them.

It only happens about once every two years but that time has come around again… This site has been updated!
Yet again I’ve started completely from scratch as my last effort failed miserably. I did have a plan. The problem was that only after I’d started coding it dawned on me that it was going to take months (if not years) to get most of the site up and running. So it eventually fell back into dormancy.
But I’ve been kicked back into action now. Mainly due to the fact that the domain and hosting both needed renewing and unfortunately my webhosting provider had just ceased trading which was less then ideal.
To cut a long story short I’ve switched servers, dumped the old site and it’s back with a vengence in full blog-a-vision thanks to Wordpress. So you should see some regular changes on here… I’m hoping weekly, or even daily if I pull my finger out!
So whats coming? Well, I definately need to do something with the site design as it’s looking very plain and vanilla. The GIMP is on standby!
Most of any new actual content will probably be primarily video game related as I’m currently in a mad gaming phase but, to be honest, I’m just going to “spew forth” ideas and see which direction I go in. Everything is subject to change as always.
Special thanks to Richard Dolby of Lincolnshire Website Design for providing the new hosting and helping me out with the necessary DNS and domain registrar changes.
Also thanks to my previous hosts (Ghoulnet) for providing years of quality service.
